In conjunction with the industry-academia association of the Agricultural Science Park, we visited manufacturers in the Pingtung Agricultural Science Park to inspect their animal vaccine adjuvant production status, and provided professional consultation, technical guidance, animal experiments, safety testing, and related animal live virus immunogenicity assessment technical consultation. Through summarizing and analyzing our work, this research project has effectively provided clinical trial services for animal vaccines and adjuvants. We have also successively signed service plans or industry-academia cooperation plans with manufacturers in the Agricultural Science Park, such as Virbac, as well as manufacturers outside the park, such as Taiwan Sugar Corporation. This plan aims to enhance services such as professional consultation, technical guidance, animal testing, safety testing, and related animal live virus immunogenicity assessment in research and development, thereby deepening the development of the animal vaccine industry in the park. It will also assist in establishing a consultation and exchange platform for animal vaccine, adjuvant, and related manufacturers with National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Chung Yuan Christian University, National Chiayi University, and related institutions, and help organize workshops and promotional activities for strategic alliances’ research and development achievements in animal vaccines, adjuvants, and related fields.
Meat water retention is one of the important indicators to evaluate the water retention of meat tissue after slaughtering, cutting, storage and other processes. At present, the water retention of meat is commonly measured by the filter paper press method. The ratio of the surface area of the meat to the total surface area is determined based on the moisture permeated on the test paper. The higher the value, the better the water retention. Generally, the water retention of meat is measured by the filter paper press method. The operation process is all for large-scale testing, and this method is time-consuming and time-consuming. This research hopes to develop a real-time image recognition system that can reduce labor and time costs and be used by the livestock processing industry.

偕同農科園區產學協會訪視屏東農業科技園區廠商動物用疫苗佐劑生產狀況、提供研發與測試之專業諮詢、技術指導、動物試驗、安全性測試與相關動物活體病毒免疫效力評估技術諮詢等工作總結與分析,本研究計畫執行有效提供動物用疫苗與佐劑臨床試驗服務,並陸續與農科園區進駐廠商瑞寶基因、法國維克(Virbac)與園區外廠商台糖公司等,簽訂服務計畫或產學合作計畫。本計畫提升研發與測試之專業諮詢、技術指導、動物試驗、安全性測試與相關動物活體病毒免疫效力評估等服務,深化園區動物用疫苗產業發展。輔導建立屏東科技大學、中原大學、嘉義大學、動物用疫苗、佐劑或相關廠商諮詢與交流平台、協助舉辦策略聯盟動物用疫苗、佐劑或相關研發成果技術研習與推廣活動。
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a blood derivative rich in growth factors and cytokines that can stimulate tissue regeneration and repair. Autologous and homologous PRP are two different approaches to harnessing the therapeutic potential of platelets in regenerative medicine. The main differences between these techniques are the source of PRP and its application. Autologous PRP is isolated from the patient himself, and its significant advantage is its safety, which minimizes the risk of adverse reactions or immune reactions. However, the production of autologous PRP is limited, the production cost is high, and the treatment process requires high costs and time. Homologous PRP is obtained from the blood of healthy donors and usually requires careful screening and purification processes to ensure the safety and tissue compatibility of the recipient patients. Clinically, homologous PRP has been shown to have advantages in efficacy compared with autologous PRP. Therefore, commercializable homologous PRP is an important development focus of related biological agents.
This project was performed and cooperated with the Department of Food Science, National Penghu University of Science and Technology and Li Simply Plus Co., LTD. to develop an drink and investigate its protective effect on methylglyoxal-induced cranial nerve damage in mice. Overall, we expected that the results of the implementation of this project can be used as a basis for the development of the drink for health food that protects the cranial nerve.
Our study aims to develop an adjuvant platform by displaying the Toll-like receptor 4 ligand, a truncated Suilysin D4 domain (tSlyD4), on Gram-positive bacteria. This platform will be validated and visualized in vitro using western blot and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The immunostimulatory potential of this adjuvant platform will then be assessed in an animal model. We anticipate that this platform could be utilized with novel antigens to target diseases requiring a mucosal immune response.
Food safety testing is a critical component of the food industry, playing a vital role in ensuring public health. According to market analysis, the global demand for food safety testing has reached billions of dollars and continues to grow, reflecting an increasing awareness of food quality and safety. Furthermore, food testing is essential for mitigating the risks associated with foodborne diseases and other related hazards. Therefore, the development of rapid diagnostic assays for foodborne pathogens is not only necessary but also holds substantial market potential.

高濃度血小板血漿(Platelet-Rich Plasma, PRP) 是一種富含生長因子(growth factor)和細胞因子(cytokines)的血液衍生物,可以刺激組織再生和修復,自體(autologous)和同源(homologous) PRP 是再生醫學中利用血小板治療潛力的兩種不同方法。這些技術的主要差異在於 PRP 的來源及其應用。自體PRP是從患者自身分離,顯著優勢是其安全性,最大限度地降低不良反應或免疫反應的風險,然而自體PRP產量有限,且生產成本高,療程需花費較高的費用與時間。同源 PRP 是從健康捐贈者的血液中獲得的,通常需要仔細的篩選與純化工序,以確保受贈患者的安全和組織相容性,臨床上同源 PRP已被證明與自體 PRP 相比在療效方面具有優勢,因此可產品化的同源PRP是相關生物製劑的重要開發重點。

阿茲海默症 (Alzheimer’s disease) 為一種不可逆的神經退化性疾病,在所有的失智症案例中約60-80%的患者都是罹患阿茲海默症。阿茲海默症的特徵為大腦中的神經元受到破壞,讓患者的思考、學習或認知出現障礙,最後甚至會使大腦中控制飲食的區域受損或產生器官衰竭等問題最終導致死亡。經2020年的統計,全世界約有4400萬人患有阿茲海默症,且根據美國阿茲海默症協會 (Alzheimer’s Association) 統計,阿茲海默症為美國第六大死因,預計到了2050年,光是美國就會增加至1300萬例的病例。而阿茲海默症的發病因素除了像是年齡、遺傳或者家族史,另外像是抽菸、酒精、睡眠、教育、社交參與或者飲食等都有可能會影養阿茲海默症的發展,尤其在飲食方面,現代人常會因追求美味而忽略了食品的高糖或高油脂成分,進而對身體健康造成危害。而這類高糖、高油脂的食品,最容易含有著像是甲基乙二醛 (Methylglyoxal, MG) 這種對人體有害的化合物。有證據指出青香蕉中的成分可能有助於保護腦神經,而其中具有生理活性的酚類物質 (phenolic compounds),而這些酚類物質對人類而言是有益處的,且具有抗氧化和抗炎的作用。因此本計畫成功以青香蕉與燕麥為試驗樣品,將其製作成飲品,結果顯示飲品對MG誘導小鼠腦神經損傷具有保護功效。

This project mainly designs a smart home lamp with rich functions and in line with modern lifestyle, integrating technology and comfort to improve the quality of home life. Through innovative design, intelligent functions and humanized operation, we are committed to creating a smarter, more comfortable and more interactive bedside lamp to meet people’s diverse needs for home environment.
In recent years, the aging agricultural population and a lack of labor force have become severe challenges for Taiwan’s agriculture. To address these issues, establishing and teaching optimal cultivation methods, as well as introducing sensing and smart devices, can effectively manage the ideal cultivation environment and produce high-quality rice, ensuring stable quality and yield. At the same time, through cross-disciplinary integration, modular design systems, IoT environmental control modules, and shared information platforms can be developed to enable intelligent production and management. This will enhance production efficiency and competitiveness within the industry. The goal is to improve Taiwan’s agricultural production and integration technology capabilities, achieve industrialization, and ultimately facilitate the export of agricultural production technologies.
Modern consumer scenarios have entered an era of small-scale customization, moving away from designing products with a mass production mindset. In the past, blister packaging production typically required a batch size of at least 3,000 units. For local market promotion, this approach often resulted in excessive inventory, which not only burdened startups developing small-scale products (under 500 units) but also led to cash flow issues and hindered market circulation. Moreover, this surplus inventory contributed to resource waste and environmental burdens from production to recycling.
In this context, a small-scale customization model offers a viable solution for product commercialization, supporting startups and businesses in meeting the demand for low-volume production.
On the materials front, the market demands a broader selection of plastics, more size options, and a wider variety of colors. To address this, the equipment developed in this project is designed to be open-source, adaptable to multiple materials, and equipped with suction control functionality to accommodate various plastic sheet sizes. This approach provides greater flexibility compared to relying on a single type of plastic sheet.

To increase consumer acceptance of softshell turtle-based products and enhance the value-added potential for softshell turtle farmers, this project aims to develop softshell turtle eggs into a fun and engaging snack, encouraging consumers to try softshell turtle-related products. Additionally, involving students in the project allows them to gain hands-on experience in product development, nutritional labeling, and other processes, fostering talent in product research and development for the food industry.
This product focuses on developing a detection technology for chlorophyll content in hydroponic lettuce phenotypes. Using hydroponic lettuce as the research subject, it leverages an imaging detection system to capture critical data on the plant’s growth environment. Through this system, researchers can obtain real-time insights into the growth status of hydroponic lettuce, analyzing its development. Detailed observations of leaf surface phenotypes, external plant shapes, and characteristics are conducted, facilitating a better understanding of the growth process.
The commercialized outcome integrates an IoT real-time monitoring system into the hydroponic system, including sensors and data transmission devices. With a user-friendly interface or mobile application, users can visually monitor the state of hydroponic lettuce while tracking key indicators such as chlorophyll content. This enhances the development of Taiwan’s innovative agricultural technology.
The BC supplement developed in this project contains immunoglobulins, growth factors, and other bioactive components, which not only enhance immune system function but also promote muscle repair and growth, while reducing post-exercise fatigue. It meets various health needs. Additionally, the naturalness and safety of bovine colostrum align with modern consumer expectations for health foods. Bovine colostrum is also versatile in processing and can be made into various product forms such as powders, capsules, and beverages to meet the needs of different groups, ranging from general fitness enthusiasts to professional athletes. With increased market awareness and ongoing scientific research, the potential for developing bovine colostrum-related products extends beyond the health supplement sector and is poised to play a significant role in the field of sports nutrition.
Taiwan, located in the subtropics, often experiences hot and humid weather, which makes skin diseases in dogs and cats common. There are many causes of dermatitis, and common symptoms include itching, redness, scaling, and hair loss. These symptoms can occur anywhere on the body. Due to the complex symptoms and causes, a professional examination by a veterinarian is necessary for accurate diagnosis. Owners can prevent and alleviate skin problems through proper diet and daily care. The seed residue left after extracting oil from camellia seeds is an agricultural byproduct. Due to its large biomass, research and development have revealed many economic added values.

The precipitation hardening (PH) stainless steel with excellent mechanical strength, better wear resistance, and good atmospheric corrosion resistance can be formed by adding additional elements such as copper, aluminum, titanium, niobium, and molybdenum to the iron-chromium-nickel stainless steel, followed by a solution treatment and an aging treatment. The PH stainless steel can be widely used in golf club heads, gas turbine blades, oil pipeline valves and nuclear energy reaction components, etc.
